Korea Zine
November–December 2021
A zine featuring my experiences studying abroad for six weeks in Korea in the summer of 2019. I drew inspiration from photos I took and the most memorable events, resulting in an illustrated personal narrative.
Process
I started exploring this idea by reflecting upon my experience in Korea and listing memorable moments I might include. I made several content dummies by hand to experiment with different sizes, lengths, and pacing for the zine, and produced illustrations as I finalized the text.
It was my first time writing and illustrating something based off my own experiences, and it was interesting to draw inspiration from that sense of vulnerability.
